The Recycled Film

Code Academy Week 3 has come to an end and, so far, I’m extremely satisfied. There are, however, a few aspects of the class that I didn’t expect. Here are 3 things about Code Academy that caught me off guard.

I recently visited my cousin in Delaware and we recorded a cover of Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box,” which is pretty much my favorite song of all-time. Shot in 720p HD with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 and Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 “pancake” lens.

The Guardian’s Jonathan Jones has long been a fan of the legendary Venetian painter Titian. I, too, am a fan of the famous artist of Venice and Jones’ latest post eloquently articulates why the Italian Renaissance painter’s work is so beautiful.

Well, I made it through my first week (first 2 classes) of Code Academy. So far, it’s been inspiring, exciting, and motivational, and I’ve already met some pretty cool people.

With all of today’s unwanted remakes, disappointing sequels, and 3D blockbusters, it seems unfathomable that a silent film could win at the Oscars. But then again, Michel Hazanavicius’s The Artist isn’t your average silent film.
